It is not enough with a deep and proper identification of problems, they need to be innovative to keep the interest of stakeholders, increase the chances of replicating the initiative in other region or country, and making sure to achieve the highest impact possible.
Projects -indistinctly- of the sector or type, need to also implement 4.0 technologies, for instance, adding machine learning, big data analysis, Internet of Things to operations in the project, programming structures, and so on. This kind of features may allow the management of the project to develop easily, and to ensure proper and smart analysis to results and progress.
If a company that develops business investment projects fall in a status quo, always developing the same kind of projects, will increase the risks to be replace by a vibrant and new brand type of companies, with novel features and tools that can reduce costs, or increase the user’s satisfaction. So, not looking for 4.0 Technologies is just a terrible choice in projects.
One clever movement when developing and executing projects is making sure the project follows at least one level of innovation. Just to make it clear, global literature uses to spread 3 types of innovation: Incremental, Radical and the highest level: Discontinuous.
Applying this theorical information about the types of innovation, lets imagine a project that pursuit the improvement of employment rate. An Incremental Innovation approach consists in just developing traditional training in unemployed population (session in a classroom), but the innovation consists in adding special training about how to design a CV, how to manage themselves at jobs interviews, how to look for vacancies in newest platforms.
A Radical strategy could be developing training in the areas in which unemployed are supposed to work in, but not in traditional classrooms, but in special rooms with software’s and novel equipment that allows them to improve their job skills, according with the market trends; get a certificate signed by a relevant firm, well-recognized in the market, and at the end of the project, prepare contracts with some companies, jobs offered to the best qualifications and results during the technological training.
A Discontinuous Innovation approach for this exercise can be, that in addition of the training in technological center, training in new software and techniques… unemployed population will finish the project stablishing new brands, with investment in technological equipment, ensuring investment of stablished companies in the market to elevate the number of new employees; and also setting a smart platform in which those new companies can join with potential clients, suppliers, in national or international markets. So unemployed population may turn in jobs creators.
So, please consider 4.0 Technologies and at least one level of innovation when formulating and managing projects.
